Digital Infrared Imaging Camera
|
The use of high resolution infrared cameras to examine the human body has opened up new dimensions. Clear, well-defined images can be taken of virtually any region of the body. The information from these studies has been helpful in the investigation of many conditions, a few of which are listed below. The examination must be performed following strict guidelines and protocols. The area to be imaged is exposed to the camera. The patient must be allowed 15 minutes to acclimate to the temperature of the room which is climate controlled at a constant temperature during the study (18-23 degrees Celsius). The room must be free of drafts and the patient must be positioned away from direct sunlight or ventilation systems present in the room. A sophisticated infrared camera is used to take the images. This information is then transmitted to a special computer for analysis. The examination itself takes from 10 to 20 minutes to complete. |
The following is a partial list of the conditions in which camera digital infrared imaging may be helpful in analyzing: |
